KOZO MIYOSHI

Born in Chiba Prefecture, 1947, Miyoshi graduated from the Department of
Photography at Nihon University in 1971. He spent one year with the Government Overseas Training Program for Artists at the Center For Creative
Photography, The University of Arizona, 1991. After his internship, he remained in Tucson, Arizona until 1996.

His book Far East and Southwest: The Photography of Kozo Miyoshi contains
thirty of his large-format black-and-white photographs from Japan and the
southwestern United States. His straightforward visual approach to people
and their surroundings unites the two cultures through a sense of common
experience and subject matter.
