JOSEPH DEISS
The son of a winemaker, Joseph Deiss grew up in the Napa
Valley. It was at the age of 12 that he processed his first
sheet of film and has been an avid
photographer ever since. He initially studied Physics and
Music at University of California, Santa Barbara before moving
on to University of California, Berkeley, where he received a
B.A. in Architecture. Later, Deiss attended the Art Center
College of Design in Los Angeles but then moved on to
California State University at Northridge where he received a
B.A. in Art.
Joseph Deiss prefers working with large format view cameras in
making his images. For the last six years, Deiss has turned
his attentions to the computer as a tool for print making.
Working with the growing medium with utter dedication, Deiss'
archival ink jet prints have finally reached a level of
quality worthy of Fine Art.
